Going home

Today, I'm getting everything finished up for my trip to D.C. tomorrow morning. My boyfriend and I will be there all weekend, taking in some of the historical sights in Virginia (where I grew up), visiting the museums, catching up with family, and generally enjoying the mild Fall weather and beautiful colored leaves. These are all things I miss constantly about living there. I still maintain that the Blue Ridge/Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia is one of the most beautiful places in the country.

Everything there seems to have a memory, from tagging along with my mom on the 9:30pm Fed-Ex runs to Dulles Airport (where we're flying into) so she wouldn't miss a work deadline, to the dinosaur bones at the Smithsonian (I was one of those kids who actually loved going to museums), to the familiar street names leading to places where I did theater rehearsals or where my closest friends used to live. It's all just very nostalgic. I'm actually going to have to try and keep from getting emotional the entire time. Haha. Especially if we get a chance to drive by some of my old houses and favorite spots.

I'll do my best to take lots of photos and have a recap of the vacation when I get back.
Have a wonderful day!
