Pink Hot Summer

Umm...is it Summer yet?

Even though I know I'll regret it when the temperatures here in Austin start reaching 106 degrees everyday, I've definitely been longing for Summer lately. Ok, maybe just Spring, more accurately. I'm already starting to see Summer clothes, bikinis, flip flops, and summer party accessories popping up in the stores. I've been coming up with lots of ideas for themed parties or things I want to do once the weather gets warmer. I'm already looking forward to festivities on the 4th of July, laying out at the pool with my magazines (and getting some laps in for exercise!), and honestly, just being able to throw on a great pair of jeans, sandals, and a cute tank top for the day and be done!

Last November I was in snowy Colorado with my Mom and her husband. We went for a work conference in Denver, but we stole a few days to head to nearby Steamboat Springs for some vacation time. Not realizing we were going to be visiting the Hot Springs up in the Rocky Mountains, I had failed to bring my bikini. If you are ever in Colorado in the winter: go bikini shopping!! As you can imagine, they aren't in huge demand when there is snow on the ground. I found an awesome royal blue O.p. string bikini for $1 a piece at Walmart. $1!! It might be my best fashion-find to date! I also usually have trouble finding bikinis that fit me well, but this one fit like a glove.



The Hot Springs were absolutely gorgeous. It's the strangest feeling to be sitting in a bikini, in a natural hot tub, surrounded by miles of forest and deep snow!

I've been excited to wear the blue bikini ever since, but the other day, Steve and I walked into a Walmart in Austin and saw the exact same bikinis in a multitude of colors. Score!!! Granted, they were $6 a piece, not $1, but who can really complain? Haha. Steve immediately grabbed a hot pink top and told me I just had to try it on. Honestly, would you say no? It's only been recently that I've embraced wearing pink. I used to hate it. But, I've been a blonde for a few years now, and I figure I might as well "go Barbie" while I can, as long as it's moderation! The bikini looked great, and even though I also tried on a black one, hot pink was the clear winner. Of course, this turned into a full on summer shopping adventure, and Steve also helped me pick out some SUPER cute hot pink shorts as well as a little Texas Longhorns outfit. I was so pleased with how comfortable it was while still looking really cute, and I have no problem embracing football if fashion is involved. Haha. Only kidding. Sort of.



Yup. I'm in love.
